Position Mission:

The mission is the fundamental reason this position exists.

The mission of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is to be responsible for Safety and Environmental programs and compliance within all government regulations. This person must be familiar with all government regulations pertaining to Environmental and Safety regulations and good industry practice.

Outcomes:

The outcomes are the specific and measurable objectives that have a significant impact on the team and business, and include the timeframe over which they should be achieved.

  1. Perform an assessment on the Behavioral Based Safety program. Make recommendations to the current safety committee within the first 60 days

  2. Assess and audit current EHS programs and existing permits. Recommend changes necessary to maintain compliance and/or initiate paperwork to gain compliance within 60 days

  3. Take ownership, manage, and process all workers compensation cases within 30 days

Other Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience in EHS in a manufacturing facility

  • Experience in workers compensation case management

  • Must have current First Responder certification

  • Be able to effectively perform training for large groups

  1. Aggressively attack shop floor 5S (ie. discipline squares, shadow boards and general housekeeping) in the 1st 90 days.

  2. Conduct ergonomic assessments in different manufacturing departments within the first 6 months.

  3. Conduct a machine guarding analysis within the first 6 months.

  • Broad knowledge of safety and environmental laws and practices
